BUG REPORT: .ro top-level domains suggested for whitelisting

Post by YossiOren »

Version used: NoScript 2.0.9.3 on Firefox 3.6.13

To reproduce:
1. Visit a site in Romania, for example my homepage at http://iss.oy.ne.ro
2. Click the NoScript menu to whitelist the site

Expected result:
The suggested whitelist entry should be "oy.ne.ro", which is my domain

Actual result:
The suggested entry is "ne.ro", which is a top level domain for Romania

Similar results for a .co.ro site, for example http://www.ristoro.co.ro/ and for a .or.ro site, for example http://www.kiwanis.or.ro

Thanks for writing NoScript!

NoScript, like Firefox itself, uses this list to discriminate TLDs.
Those suffixes are not included yet, hence you (or, better, the relevant registration authority) should submit an amendment.

OK - great response! I emailed the hostmaster of the responsible NIC, and as requested I'll change the topic to SOLVED once it's rolled out to NoScript.

In has to "roll out" into Firefox, not Noscript.
Once the Mozilla guys receive an e-mail concerning this from a relevant authority they're going to add an entry in their bug tracker which you should then be able to find under https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cg ... in%20Lists where you also see other bugs of this kind (other bugs concerning the suffix list).
