[RESOLVED] Java does not work in Firefox 3.6 (MacOS)

Post by traut »

Hi all,

do you have any idea how to make java working?

Some content does show properly, but many times the area just remains empty.

Example: http://javatester.org/version.html the Java Tester itself

Conditions:
* Firefox 3.6.3 (Firefox/3.6.13)

* MacOS - I do use MacOS X, version 10.6. Java Support and updates is not that good on that platform

However, displaying the page in Safari as the default Apple browser does show working Java contents. Thus Java itself should be ok.

*Adblock Plus: The Java frames can be deactivated by ABP. I thus may see the path to the Java application, such as http://javatester.org/JavaVersionDisplayApplet.class .

Disabling ABP does not change the display. Thus I doubt that ABP is the reason.

Disabling the Forbid Java checkbox in NS does not change anything.

Thus I'm not sure whether it's a FF problem or something related to NS.
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Usi ... %20Firefox did name NS - so maybe anyone else can confirm or decline that this is related to NS.

It works for me, even though I could only try on Mac OS X 10.5.2.

Could you try on a clean profile with just NoScript installed and default options?
