[RESOLVED] Infinite Loop on YouTube User Channels
Posted: Wed Dec 22, 2010 4:39 am
Having all JavaScripts disabled using NoScript in any Mozilla-based Web browser (Firefox, SeaMonkey, etc.) will cause an infinite redirection loop when viewing a YouTube Channel. For example, if one disables JavaScript and then visits [ http://www.youtube.com/user/alyankovic ], one will enter an infinite redirection to [ http://www.youtube.com/user/LANGUAGE ]. All user channels appear to redirect to that URL when JavaScript is disabled. However visiting [ http://www.youtube.com/alyankovic ] will not result in this error with or without JS. As I am using the NoScript extension, I have determined that enabling JavaScript for the youtube.com domain will stop the problem from happening, even if JS is not enabled for the google.com or ytimg.com domains.
There were no errors or warnings in the browsers' Error Consoles. Browsers used include the current version of SeaMonkey (2.0.11) and Firefox (3.6.13). NoScript versions used were past and present, including version 2.0.8.1 and 2.0.9rc3. Operating systems include Windows XP SP3 and Debian GNU/Linux 5.0.
