When trying to update to NoScript 2.0.8.1 today I got a download error 228 and was not able to update, presently I have not been able to update or install any addons through addons.mozilla.org. I was able to download install the latest development build off noscript.net, however. I was wondering if anyone else is getting this error?

This probably hints at a (temporary?) glitch in Mozilla's mirror infrastructure.
Clear your cache and check whether the problem has gone away in the meanwhile.

KB: Download Error -228

---

Now I did have a repeatable 1-byte error (& the 1-byte was mid-way through the file) in the download file of Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool (KB890830) (windows-kb890830-v3.14.exe) - when I was using LeechFTP to grab the link. (I've done it that way for ages without incident.) A FlashGot/Net Transport download worked without any problem.

(You know there is a problem, because when you attempt to run, the .exe self-validates & reports corruption.)

This did turn out to the be the problem and it cleared up in about an hour or so. I have successfully updated to 20.8.1 now. The problem seemed to be connected to releases.mozilla.org being down.
