I get the "Scripts Currently Forbidden" and "Scripts Currently Allowed" messages in my status bar, even though I deselected "show message about blocked scripts" and "Place message at the bottom" on the Notifications dialog box.
Is there something else I'm supposed to do to get rid of the extra text? The NS icon is all the notification I want about blocked/partially allowed scripts.
Thanks in advance...

That's weird.
Please try using NoScript Options|Reset, then just deselect "Show message about blocked scripts".

Thanks for the quick response! I did finally figure it out, and BOY do I feel dumb right now.
The actual problem was that I had "Status bar label" checked on the Appearance tab.
File this in the PEBKAC folder
