Let me start off by saying that I've been using NoScript and FlashGot for many years and have never had an issue until today. This morning when I turned on my laptop and launched Mozilla-Firefox I was told there was an update for NoScript available. As always, I accepted and install seemed to go smoothly. Everything seemed normal until I went to eBay to check on some items I've been bidding on.
When I got to the eBay start page everything went crazy! The page kept reloading and the bar with the menu button kept appearing and disappearing. The menu would not stay open when I clicked the button. I was only able to bring calm and stability to the situation after temporarily allowing eBay.com, but it was difficult to do with the page and browser freaking out. I go to eBay quite often and always temporarily allow the entire front page, but I NEVER allow permanent permissions to ANY site. After temporarily allowing the page all seemed normal. I continued to surf other sites with no issues. Then to test eBay again, I shutdown my browser, then relaunched it. Again I headed to eBay, and again the front page freaked out. So this is repeatable and as I mentioned never happened with any previous version.
I'm running Gentoo Linux ~x86, Mozilla-Firefox-3.6.9 other extensions I have enabled are FlashGot, Adblock Plus, Cookie Monster, and FireFTP.
I hope this helps to diagnose the issue. TIA
Ciao,
Robert

URL: http://www.ebay.com/
(looks to be looping to http://www.ebay.com/?_js=OFF)
Assuming (though haven't looked yet) that is simply a coding issue on ebay?
Thinking that if NoScript is disabled & JavaScript is (manually) disabled, you will get the same looping?
Easy enough to stop the looping by hitting the ESC key (perhaps a few time in succession).
You can mitigate it by: NoScript Options | Advanced -> Untrusted => Forbid META redirections inside <NOSCRIPT> elements.
(Or once you Allow ebay.com it should subside too.)

True.Thinking that if NoScript is disabled & JavaScript is (manually) disabled, you will get the same looping?
So just poor coding on ebay's part.

Re: Newest version is freaking out on eBay
Looks like they changed their site quite a bit, no more quirks mode!

Re: Newest version is freaking out on eBay
After reading the here responses yesterday, I sent messages to eBay pointing out these issues. They seemed to have fixed them overnight, because when I logged in this morning it appeared to be behaving normally.
Thanks for the help.
