Starting Firefox 3.6.10 with NoScript 2.0.3.2 enabled wakes up my Synology Diskstation NAS which is located in the local network. Disabling NoScript prevents the NAS from waking up.
Is NoScript sending broadcasts? I don't see any options regarding network settings. The NAS' IP is not in the whitelist. What can I do?

Re: FF with NoScript wakes up hibernated NAS
If I had to guess it would be FlashGot.exe.
If you change your downloader to Brower Built In, does the same occur?
(Could be when you downloader opens that it is enumerating the NAS.)
Can't say I've noticed anything similar with local fixed (but otherwise sleeping) drives?
(Though it could be that normal activity had them awake anyhow?)
(It is typical for DOS applications to poll devices, awakening them.)

Plugged in a (WDC) USB HDD.
Went to sleep.
FlashGot'ing (or FlashGot Media, regardless of download manager) did not cause USB HDD to awaken.
(Which Synology do you have? Like it? Easy to configure? Can it do FTP?)

Does your NAS respond on your WAN IP too, at least from your LAN? If it does, this may be http://noscript.net/abe/wanjto wrote:Starting Firefox 3.6.10 with NoScript 2.0.3.2 enabled wakes up my Synology Diskstation NAS which is located in the local network. You're talking about the addon Flashgot, right? Disabling it does not help.therube wrote:If I had to guess it would be FlashGot.exe.

It's a pretty "old" Synology DS107. Nonetheless they provide updates regularly and it offers tons of features, including FTP-server. The hibernation on the other hand causes a lot of trouble (e.g. a booting Win7 computer with default configuration ends hibernation etc) See http://www.synology.com/enu/products/index.php. They have a forum, too.therube wrote:Which Synology do you have? Like it? Easy to configure? Can it do FTP?
Some services do respond on the WAN IP (FTP server does, web interface does not), so I suppose it does in general.Giorgio Maone wrote:Does your NAS respond on your WAN IP too, at least from your LAN? If it does, this may be http://noscript.net/abe/wan
As soon as this checkbox is cleared, the NAS continues to sleep. Thanks for your help.http://noscript.net/abe/wan wrote:This new feature, enabled by default, can be disabled at any time by clearing the NoScript Options|Advanced|ABE|WAN IP ∈ LOCAL checkbox.
