According to me the best policy is to cleanse the browser thoroughly at close down with an extension like Click&Clean https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... nd%20clean
to get rid of this resurrectable persistent "ever"cookie, and no trace is to be found next time the browser is restarted...

okay, I just gave it a shot with CCleaner (latest 2.36) >>> running CC when the browser is closed gets rid of everything, including the "evercookie" thing. At the opposite, only relying on FF4 self cleaning feature is not enough.

ps: I do not advise Click&clean ...I've used it on Chrome for a while and it was okay, and an update made it become bloatware and adware, including functions that have nothing to do with cleaning, i.e. calling Windows control panel items. Never tried it in Firefox, and never will.

About "bloating", I don't see any bloating, advanced options don't interfere with basic functions as separated into individual menu.
For example Main and Tab menu:



Also, Click&Clean even don't use any content scripts, as often happens when using other extensions.

anyone ever tried to teach you that it wasn't nice to accuse people of lying, c&c is a piece of crap, period. Featured by Google means sponsored by Google while the extension devs are advertising Google, and may be even pay to be "featured". Click and clean is interfering with the system, I won't allow any extension to do that. Now the last time I had it installed it was clearly linking to external web sites advertising crap, and I won't install it again to prove you wrong, I don't have that much time to waste, period. In the mean time get educated.
