[UNRELATED] Unresponsive script screwing up whole browser?

FF 3.6.8 (W7 64-bit) has really slowed down for me and I noticed whenever I try to access "Add-Ons" I get an error message Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623

It *even* happens in Safe Mode…I found some old posts that said it might have to do with the Yahoo Toolbar but I've never had that installed.

I can't even do System Restores (from Safe Mode), I get the error message (0xc0000022).

Is there any chance this could be related to NS? I think it started happening around the same time as the last update (7-10 days ago?). I would just disable it but of course I can't even access it because of the script error message.

UPDATE: Ok I confused FF Safe Mode with Windows…I haven't solved the problem yet however I'm trying to identify if it's a specific add-on…

No, there's none.
Most likely the culprit is one of those extensions which get installed globally (e.g. Skype or .NET Framework Assistant).
Could you check whether a clean profile works?

hi

i was able to create a clean profile and then access extensions

and then when i went back to my default i was able to access extensions in safe mode (don't ask me why)

i narrowed the list of extensions down and it was/is Xmarks

ok now it seems like it's actually "virtual account numbers" from citibank that's the problem

don't know how i missed that, although they are next to each other in the list alphabetically

still it was weird that i kept disabling xmarks and each time i restarted it was enabled…

anyway thanks for your help i know this wasn't really an NS problem
