Google Search Not Working if google.com is Allowed ?

URL: http://www.google.com/

Type something in the Search box, "ncmain.exe" forinstance
Hit Enter, or click Google Search

URL changes to something like: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=ncmain.exe&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=CAAtyjo9VTM_MFofAzQTfk9GqCgAAAKoEBU_Qgvb8&fp=b9827ac0cdea6f6e

No results returned.

Wonder if it isn't an UA issue?

I think that '#' is invalid for Mozilla?
Maybe not.

A search from the URL lines returns: http://www.google.com/search?q=ncmain.exe&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=mozilla

Wonder if it's just not me? Different Profile seems to be working OK?

Yep, similar to that.

Generally always search from the URL bar, rarely from the Google page itself.

See my edit for someone who reported the unintuitive whitelisting issue.

BTW, I never search from the google home page, so I've never encountered this problem.

Yep, I think that was it!

Or maybe not? At least changing the UA back to norm, & google search is back working again.
(Though using that UA in a different, already working Google, Profile, didn't break Google.)
