FlashGot doesn't work after Windows reinstallation

Post by Taxi Driver »

First my gratitude to the author, I've been using Flashgot for years since I turned to Firefox, along with HiDownload Pro, both work together very well.

Here's the story, which is a little complicated, but I guess it would help if I give more details as possible.

Some time ago my laptop harddisk suddenly went dead and couldn't boot up. Without a choice I had to replace a new one and reinstall Windows (XP Pro), and then of course, Firefox. With the help of some data recovery software, I copied necessary files from the old harddisk in order to restore all bookmarks, extensions stuffs in Firefox. Fortunately it seemed to work fine, I got everything of Firefox back in place again. Then I installed HiDownload again, but this time I go for HiDownload Platinum instead of Pro. However unfortunately, it doesn't work with Flashgot any more.

More FYI, the installation path of HiDownload Pro was:
C:\Program Files\StreamingStar\HiDownload\

Now:
C:\Program Files\StreamingStar\HiDownload_Platinum\

I tried to add new download manager in Flashgot, but got no luck.

In this case how can I fix it and get Flashgot work with HiDownload Platinum? Thanks all in advance.

Most likely Platinum significantly changed the programming interface to pass downloads around, and support needs to be written from scratch like it was a completely different download manager.
In the meanwhile, could you try a different and support DM (such as Orbit Downloader, for instance) and see if it fits your needs?
