[RESOLVED] Yahoo search ALWAYS lead to a blocked redirect!

Am I the only guy who uses NoScript and Yahoo Search? Everything I search for produces a page of results; when I open one of them in a new tab, it takes me to Yahoo and then Yahoo redirects me to the real page. NoScript blocks that redirect EVERY TIME.

I supposed I could add an individual "it's OK to redirect" from yahoo.com to every site in the Internet -- but I'd prefer to just add one from yahoo.com to "anywhere". NoScript doesn't seem to have that option.

It's been this way for weeks or months -- I figured somebody else would notice and fix it -- but nobody has, so I'm finally reporting it.

Does this problem persist with latest version, 1.9.9.87?

Yes, it fails with the very latest one on this web site 1.9.9.87 (beyond what Mozilla offers).

Is "Yahoo Search" an extension or are you simply typing something into the search box at http://www.yahoo.com ?

Like: http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=Av_ ... =yfp-t-701

As a test, if you create a new, clean Profile, does the problem persist?

If you do a Reset in your current Profile (backup your NoScript settings first if needed), does the problem persist?

It blocks the redirect both when I go to http://www.yahoo.com and type into the search box, and when I go into the upper right corner (the "google" search box, which I have set to Yahoo searching instead) and type. I get the page of search results, but clicking on any of them leads to an almost-empty page with a banner at the top: "This webpage has asked to redirect to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics [Options][Allow][Deny]". The Options button pops up a menu saying "Allow requests from yahoo.com to wikipedia.com / Temporarily allow requests from yahoo.com to wikipedia.com".

If I make a brand new Firefox profile, I don't get this behavior.

If I make a brand new Firefox profile and install NoScript into it, I don't get this behavior.

I went back to my original profile, brought up NoScript preferences and exported them, then hit Reset. It still gives me the trouble.

Ah -- I'm also running RequestPolicy -- and that's what is blocking this. (I never understood why it takes two extensions to prevent third party inclusions from running.) I figured out how to add yahoo.com as an allowed Origin and now it works. Thank you for the help -- especially because it wasn't your extension that caused this.
