[RESOLVED] new fx 3.7 addon-manager breaks noscript

Post by so1k »

as title says, the new addon manager in the nightlys of fx 3.7 breaks noscript completely. i can't install nor uninstall (it's not found with search) it thru moz addons page nor manually (i edited the install.rdf to be sure that it's compatible with my nightly) - when i try to install it,it opens just a blank tab. as it breaks the same way some other addons, like xmarks,i'm sure it has something to do with the new addon manager. if i change fx version to 3.6 - with same profile! - i can use and install all addons. addons installed so still don't fuction nor appear in the 3.7 nightly. i'm also sure that moz guys won;t make it compatible with older addons

Confirmed.

1.9.9.79 works.

On install of 1.9.9.80, \extensions\{73a6fe31-595d-460b-a920-fcc0f8843232} is entirely deleted except that \chrome\noscript.jar (from v.79) remains.

I've seen that before ...

PS: For SeaMonkey, <em:maxVersion>2.1a1pre</em:maxVersion>, s/2.1a1pre/2.1a2pre/

(I have not tried .80 on SeaMonkey Trunk.)

I cannot get to the AOM without setting off a XSS alarm and then Minefield Stops responding. I was using the latest build that came out today. I have since removed it. I tried to whitelist the addons manger but was not able to do so. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Can I see the [NoScript XSS] lines you should get in Tools|Error Console when this happens?
Could you check whether disabling all your extensions except NoScript helps?

OK, so restart the browser to get things cleaned up & then reinstall .80 & it should take.

while extensions with no JS components ... seem to be unaffected
And you meant that literally.
So: \{73a6fe31-595d-460b-a920-fcc0f8843232}\components\noscriptService.js or \extension\compents\*.js

Oh, this is interesting.
You can work-around by adding the following line to your NoScript Options|Advanced|XSS exceptions:

Code: Select all

^@about:addons
However this will be adjusted by default in next build.

That did it. Thanks Giorgio :!: I have been using Noscript since as far back as I can remember and I would not feel safe not using it. Keep up the great work :)
