Flashgot starting downloads even if I haven't selected it.

So I've been using Flashgot for some time now, but I've been having the same problem for a while. Whenever I try downloading something, it starts automatically, even though I never selected it in the options. And also, if there are 2 or more media that can be downloaded, it chooses the first one automatically.
WTF?
And now, the download speed has gone from ~500 kb/s to 40kb/s. Good god, what's going on?

I'm using Downthemall, but it used to work perfectly fine with Flashgot.

Have you checked the settings (in Firefox) under Tools> Options> Applications, for the media type you are accessing? Try changing it to Always Ask and see what happens.

Nope, that doesn't work.
And any idea on why Flashgot's not downloading as fast as it used to?

URLs where the downloads start automatically?
URLs where there are 2 or more media to download?
FlashGot does not download anything at all.
All it does is to pass a link to some download manager.
So any download speed differences are not going to be a result of FlashGot.
(Now if a particular download has more then link [host] available, & you happen to end up with one that is slower then another, I suppose something like that is possible.)

What is even more annoying is that the infinite versions that you are asked to download are really shams to advertise and beg for donations. This is unconscienceable.
