New user, having trouble downloading some images

Post by Jack_Flash »

Hey all, I've been using FlashGot for awhile now and have found it pretty awesome for some sites, but I'm having trouble with sites like this one in particular- http://www.albideuter.de/html/alt-italienisch.html. I tried selecting multiple thumbs and then FlashGot Selection but it only downloads html links and not the actual images. Anyone know if there's a way around this or is it impossible for sites like this?

Thank you.

I don't know that there's any reason to expect anything but what you are seeing.

FlashGot in this instance, is not following the html links to try to ferret out the full sized jpg.

There appears to be a consistent naming format to the files though.

Code: Select all

thumbnail_name + "1" .jpg
FlashGot can see the thumbnail names.

So perhaps the Build Gallery with a JavaScript tweak (which I don't know how to do) can give you the file names you're looking for?

So (the thumbnail pic):
"http://www.albideuter.de/assets/images/ ... che_07.jpg"
becomes (the full sized pic):
"http://www.albideuter.de/assets/images/ ... he_071.jpg"

---

Perhaps there are specific picture downloader extensions that will dig further to find the expected result?

Thanks therube. That site seems to be set up so you can't easily download the full-sized images apart from the web page. I didn't know if FlashGot was actually designed to do that or not though. It worked on another site I tried so I didn't know if I just got lucky or what. I think ThumbsDown is actually designed for this purpose but you have to have DownThemAll and learn how to write scripts. More trouble than it's worth. :D
