System is Fedora 12, Kernel 2.6.32.11-99, Gnome 2.28.2, Firefox 3.5.9. The situation described below occurs whether the user is browsing in normal mode or in private mode.

When visiting any site possessing flash content and clicking on the flashgot icon to save the media the flashgot program creates a file "Flash[random string of 6 characters]" in: '/tmp'. NO file is saved in the users specified download directory for Firefox. When new flash content is viewed and the flashgot icon clicked on to save it the previously created file in '/tmp' is deleted a new file with a new random string of 6 characters is created and NO file is saved in the users specified download directory for Firefox.

To actually "save" the flash media the user must go to '/tmp', right-click on the file "Flash[random string of 6 characters]" then click on 'rename' to rename the file and giving it the file extension '.flv' and finally copy the file to '~/[username]' BEFORE attempting to save any other flash media through Flashgot.

Finally, the above method MUST be used before closing Firefox if the user is browsing in private mode or has browsing history expunged upon closing Firefox.

What download manager are you using?

What does FlashGot Options | Advanced -> Temporary Directory show?
