Love/Hate - Endless Compatibility Problems

Endless Compatibility Problems -- well, for example, the above captcha, to enable me to enter this message -- which is a very common brand - frequently encountered on the internet. It is proud to tell me that JavaScript is not enabled, but my browser appears to have javascript, so therefore if I want to use their captcha version that does not require javascript I should disable javascript in my browser. This is being required in order to "protect my security".
So, they claim to have a version that does not require javascript, but they won't let me use that version because I have to disable javascript first, and I have to do this because javascript is already disabled.
I mean, how stooupid can you get. what the frack is with that krap??? and why would the creators of noscript choose to use a captcha that is not even compatible with noscript?
==============================
But I digress:
what I really came here about was to report an apparent bug.
Try to watch the video on this website:
http://chris.pirillo.com/jon-stewart-ri ... a-new-one/
You can't.....
even after endless rounds of temporarily allow all this page, it still would not unblock all of the sites.
now admittedly pirillo's blog is pretty badly junked up with endless amounts of krap. but he does have some good content too and it would be nice to be able to view it.
in particular, noscript continued to block:
conviva.com
but never even offered the option to unblock it, and never reported it in the recently blocked sites list.
I finally opened conviva.com in a separate tab (I could see it coming up in the statusbar) and unblocked it manually.
But even after endless rounds of manually unblocking (temporarily) endless numbers of websites, I never did succeed in watching the video... there might be other issues, but noscript compatibility is a huge part of the problem.
this was with firefox 3.0.19 on ubuntu hardy 8.0.4 with all the updates.
==============================
Please don't misunderstand me, I LOVE NOSCRIPT
and I do appreciate that this is a very hard problem to solve.
But I am also endlessly frustrated by the compatibility problems too.
another example is that the XSS filter still does not work properly with godaddy.com (which I reported a long time ago).
-------------
When setting up computers for people (I'm a computer consultant and antivirus expert), it used to be a no brainer that I would always install firefox+noscript. But I got way too many phone calls from people who could not access various websites. So, I finally started uninstalling noscript and I no longer put it on new computers.
---------
I have mentioned this before, but the message seems to have fallen on deaf ears, so I will say it again... you really truly need to rethink the user interface, while it works fine for geeks like us, it's a total fail for most endusers, they just can not understand what they are supposed to do in order to be able to view a site or more importantly decided when it is safe to unblock a site.
