Deviantart being what it is nowadays (lotsa redirects keep ganging up on me whenever I visit), I have to run noscript when I use that site. However, I have encountered a problem in that some functionality doesn't, well, function. For example, deviations cannot be fullviewed, dropdown menus do not seem to work and there is no way for me to unhide deviations marked as mature. Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can fix this?

(by the way, the "Stal-owned thing? Really cute, but maybe it'd actually be funny if it didn't go off when someone was trying to ask a simple question)

So, no one has any ideas at all?

Anyway, just in case I'm not the only one experiencing the problem it seems as though temporarily allowing script long enough to switch your deviant art to show the close up version first and show content marked as mature is a good work-around, but problems with buttons still persist, not to mention the complete lack of, well, anything when I click on my messages or watched deviants stacks. For those pages, I have to temporarily allow script.

Everything seems to work fine here after allowing "st.deviantart.net", "about:blank" and "deviantart.com".

Anything script-related in your Error Console when you try to use this site?


BTW: The Stal0wning thing is some sort of strange heuristic to be meant against spam-bots, false positives are quite common. Better don't post any links.

Well I don't know what is going on, because I have used it with no problem, possibly another extension that is injecting something could be causing a problem. Have you tried with a clean profile and NoScript only and see if the problem persists?

Also, as long as you have a proper UserAgent string, you won't get stalloned, so not the site's fault, make sure there is Mozilla or Chrome or Gecko in there. If you use a non-modified UA, you won't get that.

As good GµårÐïåñ hinted at, your life would be much easier if you included "Gecko" in your UA string

Thank you sir. Sorry I was MIA for so long, I am hoping I can come back and put in more time. I am happy to see your spirit is good.

I'll try running the site under the suggested settings. If it doesn't work, I'll try opening up my error console and submitting the needed information (I will admit, though, that I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Firefox's higher functions, so I may need some help with the latter)

Apologies for the gripe about the Stalloned thing; seems as though this happened because of my trying to submit a query via Internet Explorer instead of Firefox

No problem, if you can get us some information, I am sure we can help you figure something out. As for the stalloned, most of the spam on boards is done via IE engines, so therefore it is a safe assumption (although there are false positives) that anyone posting with an IE UA is probably a spammer since we deal with an Fx extension here and expectation is that people would be using Fx to post to ask questions about it. In the rare instance that someone due to a faulty Fx needs to use IE, it unfortunately will filter it more aggressively. Nothing personal, and you can always try with a clean fx profile or use chrome.
