just installed version 1.2.1.20 as an upgrade to 1.2.1.19.(which was working great) & now i get this error message:

had to downgrade to 1.2.1.18 (last mozilla addon website version available) to get flashgot to work again.

more information for you. I am using version 3.6.3 of "palemoon" the windows optimized build of firefox. I wonder if the changes made from v1.2.1.19 to v1.2.1.20 are causing the issue:

version 1.2.1.19 was working fine, only 1.2.1.20 crashes.

same here, 1.2.1.20 crashes in the same way ... using latest firefox

The problem was a compiler optimization apparently incompatible with Win 6+.
Could anybody confirm that this issue is indeed fixed by 1.2.1.21?

BTW, the problem also occurs on Win XP SP3!

1.2.1.20 brought Firefox to its knees. Every time I started Firefox it died with a FlashGot fatal error. It wouldn't have been a problem had I been able to run FF; I could have just disabled FlashGot. I Attempted to remove it manually (Registry & Profiles) by deleting every reference to it in both, using a text in file search program that found many references in Profiles and a Registry editor that finds everything. Unfortunately, that killed all my other tools, and I had to restore Firefox and Profiles from an image backup, which fortunately I'd made less than 24 hours prior to 1.2.210's release. I'll try update with hopes that this doesn't happen again. The timing of my backups may not prove as lucky as it did this time.

Mmm, no. Only FlashGot.exe died, and it couldn't absolutely take Firefox with it because it's a separate process.

Again it's very strange. Unless you've got another, unrelated but concurring, problem, FlashGot's crash couldn't prevent Firefox from running normally (as it didn't for all the other reporters).
