What is site xyz?

Post by Grahamm »

I couldn't find this question asked (although it's a bit difficult to summarise for a quick search so...)

When I visit a new site and NoScript pops up a message saying other sites have been blocked (eg one recent one was http://www.ace-counters.com/ ) I can look at the names of the sites, but there's no easy way I can find of getting any information about what the blocked site does/ contains without manually typing the web address into the search box of another tab and googling it or actually visiting that address.

Would it be possible to have a menu item "tell me more about site:xyz" which would do that search automatically?

Also (this one has probably been suggested before) I'd be willing to allow "anonymous feedback" from NoScript that means my list of Whitelisted or Blacklisted sites could be uploaded to your site such that I could get a message that "93% of users blocked this site" etc to help make decisions quickly.

PS Thanks for a great utility :-)

I agree - that it should have way to make it easier to look up information about
a site. See the thread titled "Suggestion - Integrate WOT technology into NoScript"
(Which is hard to find, unless you happen to know what WOT is.)

I didn't know what WOT is, so it would have been very difficult to find :)

I note that you've mentioned the "look up a site" function in that thread as well, so thanks for that.
