RTMPE : Encrypted Real Time Messaging Protocol

Post by Unknown »

Hi

Very often now FlashGot is not able to catch when I watch. It's look like some website like myspace used a streaming video with encryption provide by Adobe.
If you check on the html page you should have some thing like this:
<embed flashvars="streamer=rtmpe://akafms-videoXX.myspacecdn.com/ondemand/&file=172/vid_XXXXXXX.flv....

If you check what is RTMPE on wikipedia you will find this definition:
* Specification: http://lkcl.net/rtmp/RTMPE.txt

Encrypted Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMPE or RTMPTE) is a proprietary protocol created by Macromedia used for streaming video and DRM. It reportedly allows secure transfer of data without SSL. It is implemented in flash player 9.0.115 and some versions of Flash Media Server 3.

FlashGot does not see RTMP much less RTMPE.

Some downloaders will see some RTMP (Net Transport & Orbit, that I know of).
