Noscript appears to break the BBC news pages, try:
http://www.bbcworldnews.com/Pages/News. ... Name=world
and click several topics to appear in a new tab.
(OSX 10.5.6, Firefox 3.5.8 - no problems when Noscript uninstalled)

It seems to work fine for me, except topics are opened in the same tab unless I middle-click them.Janke wrote:]try:

The same behavior happens on Chrome and on a clean Firefox profile.
Could you explain the problem you're observing in terms of expected behavior/actual behavior?

When I click open news items into new tabs, they load forever, not displaying anything. I have all BBC's pages enabled.

Re: Noscript bug affects BBC News?
It's not doing anything like that, same configuration as you (Fx 3.5.8 on OS X, NoScript 1.9.9.47).Janke wrote:When I click open news items into new tabs, they load forever, not displaying anything. I have all BBC's pages enabled.
Maybe it's an extensions conflict: could you try Standard Diagnostic?

Re: Noscript bug affects BBC News?
I have no other add-ons at all. The only other tool added to Firefox is FireFTP, and it's not active.
When NoScript is enabled, I get "DM-tag is not defined" errors from BBC pages, and they stop loading - but not always. More probable if many tabs are loading simultaneously, it seems like.
When I disable NoScript, no such problems...

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6
NoScript 1.9.9.50 with non-default settings
61 other extensions.
Edit: OK, I see the "DM_tag is not defined" tag appearing in the Error Console now. It turns out I had revsci.net whitelisted. If I Forbid it, then I get that error message. That said, it doesn't seem to be related to the page loading problem. All the pages still load just fine for me, even in Fx 3.5.8.
Fx 3.5.8 with default theme.
NoScript 1.9.9.50 using default settings except bbc sites Allowed.
No other extensions.

Re: Noscript bug affects BBC News?
I did a complete uninstall of Noscript, and re-loaded it from the official website. Now, I don't get the lock-ups anymore! (But I still get the DM_tag errors.)
So, maybe Noscript (or its internal preferences/settings) had become corrupted?

Re: Noscript bug affects BBC News?
Great news! Glad to hear you got it working well again.
The DM_tag errors are expected since some of the third-party scripts are being blocked. There's no NoScript problem there.Janke wrote:I did a complete uninstall of Noscript, and re-loaded it from the official website. Now, I don't get the lock-ups anymore! (But I still get the DM_tag errors.)
Internal NoScript settings may have gotten out of whack somehow. That's why Resetting the NoScript Options is part of the General Troubleshooting Instructions. So, maybe Noscript (or its internal preferences/settings) had become corrupted?
