[UNRELATED] NoScript seems to block Web Dev toolbar fns

Post by dartacus »

UPDATE: found the reason for this, if not a fix, elsewhere: see comments.

Hello all,

Executive summary: NoScript seems to stop the Web developer addon from working as expected.

First off, NoScript is a great addon and brings me much peace of mind, however ;-)

I make heavy use of the Web Developer addon for developing web apps, and also run NoScript (both at latest version, FF 3.5.7).

One of things I use the WD addon for a lot is viewing javascript (if you've got this installed: Information > View Javascript). You get a page with an expandable/collapsible code view: very useful for a dev like me. NoScript seems to prevent the expand/collapse links from working.

I have verified this by disabling NoScript and restarting firefox, viewing javascript as described above and successfully expanding/collapsing page content as expected.

The domain I'm developing on is in my noscript whitelist, as is about:blank, wyciwyg: and about:webdeveloper.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to restore this functionality? My google-fu and a search of this forum have not availed me.

Cheers,

G

Never mind: it's a Firefox issue: http://chrispederick.com/forums/viewtop ... d=2414&p=1

First rule of tech forums: as soon as you ask, you figure out the issue yourself.

The fix seems to be stuck... In the mean time I've found a replacement called JSView.
