Pls add support for FDM

Post by giovanni »

Hi all!!

I've just realized that Flashgot prevents FREE DOWNLOAD MANAGER from monitoring FIREFOX, meaning that FIREFOX users must UNINSTALL FlashGot if they want to use properly FREE DOWNLOAD MANAGER as their own Download Manager, unless they copy and paste the download link into FDM panel applet.

In particular, whenever I try to download a program using Firefox as default browser, Flashgot launches FREE DOWNLOAD MANAGER on my browser without catching the download link though.

But, to make things worse, this hitch occurs even after uninstalling Flashgot from FIREFOX through TOOLS ==> ADD-ONS because FDM still warns me that cannot monitor FIREFOX as if Flashgot was still installed on my browser.

So, as matters stand, I can use FDM properly only with IE 8 which is not my default browser.

Does anybody know how I can solve this annoying issue so as to use Flashgot with FDM on Firefox without any hassle?

Alternatively how can I uninstall Flashgot from Firefox permanently so that FDM is able to monitor Firefox again?

Just disable FDM monitoring from FDM's settings, and use FlashGot Options|Downloads|Autostart downloads if you really want them to be sent FDM automatically (I actually prefer using FlashGot Link, FlashGot Selection & FlashGot All, but it's a matter of tastes).

If uninstalling FlashGot from Tools|Add-ons doesn't help, then it's definitely a FDM bug.
