Do not tell us or others that "FlashGot doesn't work" if you have no download manager installed or, worse, if you don't know what a download manager is. If it is not clear enough, let's put it in bold letters: in order to use this extension, YOU REALLY NEED AN EXTERNAL DOWNLOAD MANAGER (pick yours in the dozen listed above).
FlashGot was born only to integrate Firefox with external download manager programs: no wonder that if no download manager is installed, FlashGot does not work!

Think this through a little bit, you are calling your new customer an idiot.

Likely Scenario: A new customer is trying to improve their download situation and finds flashgot in the add-on's section, looking for a wonderful solution that you advertize.
A: It's likely that since they discovered they need such an improvement, the idea of a plugin download improver is also new to them.
B: This means, it's likely that they also don't know the mechanics of "external download" programs or "download managers".

If A and B are true (Likely for all but accomplished computer persons), then your welcome message above is a childish flame that you decided to write because you didn't put enough effort into educating your new user base in the first place.

Attention New Customers;
In addition to installing Flashgot, you must also install one or more external download tools (set the several options above).
Many of our service calls are complaints that Flashgot plugin does not work with Firefox.
Most of these are from not having an external download program installed.

We understand that this can be confusing, but this is how replacement download managers work.
Step 1: Install a Download "Program" (see reviews or choose one for your computer platform)
Step 2: Install FlashGot "Download Manager"
Step 3: Try a simple download, you should see Flashgot and your new download program take over.

People sometimes don't understand what something does.
"Throwing it in their face" may be way one method of trying to communicate that.


In any case, that particular text is kind of obsolete these days as you can now use the browser built-in downloader in conjunction with FlashGot.

Thanks. I removed that paragraph entirely, because recent FlashGot version do work also with the built-in download manager (even though an external one is always recommended, because almost any external beats the built-in).
