That's because
google.com is already whitelisted, and it implies
www.google.com.
The drop-down is working for me. Could you try
NoScript Options|Reset?

Are you talking about the
Google Toolbar history dropdown? I don't see any others. The Google Toolbar dropdown works for me.
Fx 3.5.7 with default theme
NoScript 1.9.9.36 with default settings and whitelist. No other extensions except Google Toolbar.
Google Toolbar Version 7.0.20091216Wb1
What version of Google Toolbar are you using?
Tools > Options > Add-ons > Extensions. Right-click
Google Toolbar for Firefox > About Google Toolbar ...

Thank you for letting us know what works. I use the Googlebar Lite extension from
Googlebar Lite :: Add-ons for Firefox. Is that what you mean by "google toolbar lite"? That's a good choice. I've used it instead of Google's "Google Toolbar" for years and never have any problems with it.
The user agent appended to the display of your forum post indicates you still have Google Toolbar installed:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091221 Firefox/3.5.7 GTB6. The
GTB6 is added by the Google Toolbar. As you can see, the Google Toolbar doesn't work as well as it should in Firefox and is known to cause problems with other extensions. You should uninstall it.
