Firefox process does not end when noscript is active

Post by msit »

Hallo,

since some of the last updates of Noscript, the Firefox process does not end, and the CPU becomes very hot, when you try to close the Firefox window or do shut down the computer.

What happens?

How to solve this problem?

Firefox is version 3.5.7 German and Noscript is version 1.9.9.35

If you disable NoScript, does the problem subside?

Yes!

When Noscript is disabled, then the process of Firefox shuts down ...

Could you try disabling all your extensions except NoScript?

Ok.

I disabled all Add-once and enabled Noscript at once, and by hitting the Restart-button the windows closed but the process keeps hanging.

After killing the process and a clean start of FF the following shutdown of FF worked.

May be, I have to surf around a while, to find out if the shutdown works then too..

Otherwise there may be a collision between two ore more of the Add-ons...

Then it will be neccessary to try enabling one Add-on after the other to detect the problem.

May take some time...

Is there a possibility to upload a hardcopy of the Add-ons?

Since you may have different configurations for each add-on, the best way to proceed is Standard Diagnostic.

Thanks, seems to be the best way.

I'll try this out and report the result later.

Now I've found the real enemy!

Thank you very much for your useful tip!

The real problem seems to come with Ghostery 2.0.2.

When both, Ghostery and Noscript are active, than the FF process keeps hanging after shutdown of FF.

As Noscript is more important, I will uninstall Ghostery to fix the problem.

Thank you for your help! :D
