FlashGot no longer works with Orbit
FlashGot no longer works with Orbit
Ever since I updated to the latest version of FlashGot last week, I haven't been able to download anything using Orbit. It just fills up my desktop with empty .rar files. I'm not even sure what the settings are supposed to be in on the downloads tab. Is there a setup page for FlashGot with Orbit?
I seem to remember one a long time ago.

Where are you downloading those files from?
Is this an hosting service requiring a premium account for direct downloads (e.g. Rapidshare)?

Please check that the "Direct links" or "Direct downloads" option in your premium account settings is enabled.GTW wrote:Yes it is!Giorgio Maone wrote: Is this an hosting service requiring a premium account for direct downloads (e.g. Rapidshare)?

Are you talking about the Premium Zone Settings in RapidShare?
Those are already been set to "Direct downloads, requested files are saved without redirection via RapidShare"
The only change that occurred that broke my downloads was when I updated FlashGot to the new version.

I'm very doubtful about it. Does downgrading actually help?GTW wrote:The only change that occurred that broke my downloads was when I updated FlashGot to the new version.

Hmm, I just tried that and it doesn't seem to work.Giorgio Maone wrote:I'm very doubtful about it. Does downgrading actually help?GTW wrote:The only change that occurred that broke my downloads was when I updated FlashGot to the new version.
It's as if FlashGot either doesn't recognize the .rar extension, or no longer recognizes my RapidShare username and password. What setttings should I use?

Re: FlashGot no longer works with Orbit
Most likely Orbit is not getting your cookies right.
Could you try cleaning your cookies in Internet Explorer?

I use CCleaner all the time so no, that doesn't seem to be the issue.Giorgio Maone wrote:Most likely Orbit is not getting your cookies right.

What about if I go into FlashGot options and the downloads tab?
Autostart downloads is checked. The "File Extensions" button is ticked but the Add/Remove box is empty. The "Apply file extension filter to batch downloads too" is checked.
Are those the right settings?

Re: FlashGot no longer works with Orbit
Does it work on a clean profile?

Re: FlashGot no longer works with Orbit
It says it can't create a new one when I enter Start - Run - firefox -P. "Windows can't find firefox. Please make sure the name you typed is correct" I don't know why this is occuring since I created a test profile a long time ago and deleted it. Or at least I thought I did.Giorgio Maone wrote:Does it work on a clean profile?
I went ahead and uninstalled Orbit and would like to use JDownloader, but the option to use it is grayed out under the general tab when I go to select it. And when I manually type it in, it says the "Downloader name is invalid or already in use!" How can that be since I've never used it before?

What a mess.

You need to use a full path. Start, Run won't find "firefox.exe".
Profile Manager shortcut

I appreciate your help but I'm tired of f'king with it. Fixing one thing in order to troubleshoot (and fix) another is getting to be a bit much.therube wrote:You need to use a full path. Start, Run won't find "firefox.exe".

Especially when there seems to be other alternatives out there.
I'll probably uninstall FlashGot (I already got rid of Orbit) and just use JDownloader exclusively. It can capture embedded text weblinks without the use of FlashGot.
Thanks anyway...
