Unfortunately, the site from which I was downloading automatically said my platform was not supported (because of my user agent string), and would not allow me even to get to the page for downloading the Win-XP-related files. Thus, you extension was the perfect solution.

When I first installed it, however, when the browser restarted, I got a message saying that the NoScript extension was not installed properly. Since I only really needed the User Agent Switcher for this particular download that I wished to do, I just went ahead, successfully completed the downloads (thanks to User Agent Switcher), then uninstalled User Agent Switcher.

Now, it is difficult for me even to start iceweasel. Most of the times, it will give me a segmentation fault, but sometimes, it will run. Thinking the problem could be with whatever happened to NoScript, I even uninstalled NoScript, but the problem persists. Reinstalling NoScript hasn't helped, either. Of course, safe mode works, but that defeats the purpose of any of the extensions I have installed.

During all the above process, I did not run any other applications nor visit any websites other than the mozilla addons and the site from which I was downloading (specifically, adobe, in order to get the stand-alone installers for Flash and Shockwave for my friend's Win-XP machine).

Since this only happened after the restart following the installation of User Agent Switcher (and there had been no other extension updates or installations pending), I'm hoping the problem was something that was caused by the installation of User Agent Switcher, and you can give me an idea of why it would have freaked out NoScript as it did, and (even though I have uninstalled it) how I may remove any residual traces of User Agent Switcher that may be causing these remaining problems.
Looks like an Add-Ons Manager corruption.
Could you try to follow the steps outlined in this article?
