[RESOLVED] Recurring ABE issue doing a Google search

Post by john181818 »

I am getting the following header at the top of the screen. What should I be doing about this?

Thanks.

Thank you for the response. I have answered what I believe are the questions that you wanted to be answered. Please let me know if I can further clarify any of the responses.
Is Telus your ISP?
No, Qwest is my ISP
Is Telus a satellite service?
Qwest is a Baby Bell and it provides DSL Service.
What version of NoScript are you running?
1.9.9.15
Do you have an extensive HOSTS file?
I should not. This is a new computer. However, how do I check to be sure? Is that the same as the Whitelist?

What "security" software are you running?
Norton 360 v3.

Thanks for the response. My rule set now looks like this... Do I leave the space between them or delete it?
# Google Desktop exception.
Site ^http://(?:127\.0\.0\.1|localhost):\d+/search\?
Accept from http://www.google.com/search?

# Prevent Internet sites from requesting LAN resources.
Site LOCAL
Accept from LOCAL
Deny

That's fine either way (more readable if you keep the space).
Here's some ABE documentation.

Followed the link to this soltion:

>>>> Google Desktop's / Google Toolbar's integration of local search results into Google search queries doesn't work with ABE enabled. What can I do?
A: Open NoScript Options|Advanced|ABE, select the SYSTEM ruleset, click "Edit" and insert the following rule at the beginning of the file:

# Google Desktop exception.
Site ^http://(?:127\.0\.0\.1|localhost):\d+/search\?
Accept from http://www.google.com/search?

When I click "Edit," I get the following Windows popup:

>>Windows can't open this file:
>>File: SYSTEM.abe

>>To open this file, Windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it.

Help, please. What program do I use?
