What is the type of file of youtube videos when you download using flashgot. There is no file extension, for example .flv or .mp4. However if rename the file it works but i just wanted to know how to fix this. Because when i use another add on it downloads youtube files as .flv and while using flash got it doesnt. It's just plain file, no extension or anything.

What download manager are you using?

I am using the the firefox default download manager.

That's strange, because if you use the "FlashGot Media" feature the file name is correctly extrapolated for me with the Built In download manager, e.g. on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPBNoaWPIjc I get a 1.5 MB file named "Gaffe___Lapsus_di_Berlusconi_sui_giudici_videoplayback.flv".
Could you link a specific Youtube page where you're noticing your problem?

i dont know if the website is causing that. when u download your videos from youtube they come in .flv file. mine doesn't. wtf. it's bullshit.

the problem is on all the youtube videos i try to download. except when i click on HQ and the file is mp4.

But are you actually using FlashGot Media (the flashing orange film icon on the status bar)?

of course i am. and another problem i noticed is that sometimes the flash got media icon doesn't appear after i downloaded the video for a number of times. thats weird.
