Feature Request/Change: Status Bar Icon Location

I first have to say that I truely believe NoScript is one of the greatest apps ever created. After using it for the last few years, I would never go back to surfing without it. That being said, I have just one small complaint. I have been kind of ignoring my peeve since the first days of NoScript; I assumed it would get ironed out sooner rather than later.

Anyways, I hope this doesn't come off as anything other than a friendly suggestion :)

I think it will be easier for me to run through what happens, rather than try and explain exactly the problem. So, when I am visiting a webpage for the first time, and it has many things being blocked from many different servers, I will often attempt to right-click the small status bar icon to start allowing some "scripts" to be run before the page initially finishes loading.

More often than not, the blue S icon I need to click will jump right or left across the screen, making room for various <NOSCRIPT> messages that are barely visible for less than a second. The icon is forced to slide back and forth, across the toolbar numerous times, making it impossible to right-click. I always end up right-clicking an icon of some other add-on I have active.

I have experienced this with every version of Firefox I have ever used since around 2.0, also on 3 different versions of Windows. I have absolutely every NoScript notification unchecked, and I still can get a glimpse of these <NOSCRIPT> messages on the status bar.

Is it possible to force the NoScript icon to always be the very last icon (to the right) on the status bar? If not, this would be a very welcomed addition by me

Thanks!

Have you got the status bar label set to be shown as well?
Notice that recent NoScript version display the status bar label on the left of the status bar icon, therefore the icon should stand still no matter the message to be displayed.
Otherwise I probably can't understand the issue fully: could you send a couple of screenshots to explain?

If you start FF in -safe-mode, disabling all extensions except for NoScript, does the problem persist?

Well, showing you what the problem is using screenshots would be close to impossible because of how quickly (frequently) the status bar is changing. I will create a video of my desktop screen, and you will see what I'm talking about.

Here is a direct link to that video, finally!
(took forever to find best video conversion settings)
.avi format (xvid) | 1:59mins | 6.76 MB
In this video you will first see my blank desktop, I immediately start Firefox.
I wanted to show the absolute chaos that is my status bar, as it behaves when a new firefox process is started.
Notice how all the icons seem like they cant decide what order to be in, now you can see what the fuss is about.
Then I load some random webpages, one after the other, so you can see the NoScript icon jump back and forth.
I hope that demonstration answered any questions you had about what I was trying to describe in post #1.

Also, in the time I was putting the video together, I did manage to snap a couple of screenshots like you asked.
Imagine your firefox status bar going from this:

to this...

...and back again in less than 1 second, not fun
I believe those extra icons belong to NoScript, or am I wrong?

No, it does not persist with only noscript enabled, which immediately tells me that the problem has to do with another Firefox extension.

Here is a list of the extensions I have installed, just for reference

No, I only have the box for displaying the icon checked. Also, here is my notifications page, just for reference again:

Thank's therube, you asked one simple (probably obvious) question, and now I feel like a moron.

I'll work on trying to determine exactly which extension is behaving with NoScript this way.
I'll post what I find as soon as I can.

Just a hint to speedup your quest: Standard Diagnostic.

I found the problem. It is StumbleUpon.
I did not see these two extra status icons pop up with *only* StumbleUpon disabled (every other extension enabled).
I then enabled StumbleUpon, and started playing with the options. I had the StumbleUpon toolbar placed in the status bar, with always first checked.

I moved the Stumble toolbar up to a different toolbar, and viola, problem solved!
I still don't understand exactly what was causing this, I'd love an explanation.
I would assume that anyone could now reproduce my problem and determine what is happening.
Also, I'm curious, which extension is at fault?
My sincere apologies if I am in the wrong forum!
