All of a sudden, was working just a couple of hours ago, I am getting a "NoScript could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled" warning. Browser console says it is not signed correctly.
Any ideas why I am getting that? Nothing changed between those two sessions.
Thanks.
Edit: Marked Fixed. Thanks Giorgio Maone.

Re: NoScript could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled
Which version of NoScript is listed in your add-ons manager?

12.1.1
Windows 7. Latest W7 Firefox ESR version 115.19.0
Sorry. Should have mentioned that.

Does reinstalling it from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /noscript/ help?

Re: NoScript could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled
Apologies for the ignorance. Would doing that affect any of my settings and such?
It was installed originally from that link and has worked/updated itself wonderfully since I just want to make sure I am not going to affect that trying that reinstall.

Re: NoScript could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled
If you uninstall NoScript (or use the [Remove] button from the AMO page) you will actually loose your settings.
However you can force a reinstall without loosing your settings by using this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/down ... 12.1.1.xpi

Thank you so much Giorgio Maone. Did the re-install with your link and it fixed it.
Thanks for your patience walking me through that so I know how to try that in the future also.
Just a random local slow startup bug that hit it or something else I should look into in case it happens again? I can't figure out what caused it this time as nothing like that has happened in the past.

Answering that question would probably require seeing the Browser Console messages at the time the issue first occurs.
BTW [Fixed] is usually for NoScript bugs that got fixed by a code change in a newer NoScript version. We mark [Resolved] for solved support questions and others.

This thread is only for the specific issue the OP faced in January 2025. As of 2025-03-14, a certificate that old versions of Firefox are using to verify add-on signatures expired, resulting in symptoms similar to this issue for a larger number of users. Since the two issues have different causes, discussion of the expired certificate issue has been moved to its own thread: viewtopic.php?t=27275
