Can't Uninstall FlashGot in Firefox 3.0.14, Mac OS X. Didn'

Didn't want this program. Now it's sitting in some cache somewhere so that every time I boot Firefox, I get a message asking if I want to install Flashgot. If I "cancel" Firefox hangs and a while later the same message pops up. Happens 3 or 4 times before Firefox will continue on, very laggy. If I proceed with the install, Firefox installs and goes on, very laggy. Then if I go into the Add-Ons to delete the thing, it doesn't even show up. I'd like to uninstall it permanently, and remove the install request that's hanging out in some mystery cache. My Firefox is very unhappy in its current state.

Also, I have quite a few other customizations and add-ons that I'd rather not rebuild from scratch. Everything was working fine until Flashgot came along. Please help. Thanks.

Looks like either an add-ons manager corruption or some other software you installed (a download manager? JDownloader, perhaps?) trying to install FlashGot automatically.
Assuming it is the first case, you can try
