For a couple of months now, I've been having this problem under Firefox. I am currently on version 11.4.28 (Fx 118.0.2 (64-bit)).

The problem I see is that NS seems to randomly revert trusted settings for my sites. It used to be that once trusted, a site would stay so for a VERY long time (I don't event know if there was a period after which it reverted?).
But now, on a regular basis (every few days), randomly, I loose the trusted status for some sites, randomly. It's a bit hard to track, as it is random, and I do visit a lot of sites, but it is definitely there.
This is not a problem of sites changing urls. For some dev work, I point my browser onto local sites, with a simple IP address, and these sites do lose their trusted status on a regular basis too, randomly, while their content has not changed.

Any idea on what to look into, some logs, settings, other? Thanks!

Trusted status should never revert unless you revert it yourself or specifically pick the "Temp. TRUSTED" option.

Do you use any third-party "cleaning" type software? If so, make sure any cleaning of Firefox is disabled in its settings. Firefox can clean itself and use of these type softwares on Firefox profiles are known to cause profile corruption.

Note that I have not been using Discard Tab, Session Boss UnloadTabs or User-Agent Switcher when all this happened.

I meant system cleaning software external to Firefox, e.g. CCleaner, BleachBit, etc.

I'm in Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS, no funky tools, very vanilla dev environment.

Are you using Firefox Sync?

You're right, I forgot about that!!! I just checked the sync settings, and I do sync add-ons among other things. Does this mean the noscript trust list is sync'ed too? I'm wondering what the sync rules are, if this makes me revert some settings...
