NoScript Homepage opens up with every start of firefox

This started happening about a week ago and I can't seem to find what could have possibly caused it. Same bug has been observed in another firefox add-on so I'm wondering wtf is up. Every time I start firefox it goes to the noscript homepage, and the license agreement for myWOT pops up out of nowhere too.

Maybe I overlooked some preference that got checked during its last update or something?

also, noscript seems to not save sites which i have allowed anymore.

If this happens every time you open Firefox, rather than when you update the relevant add-on, something wrong is happening. NoScript in fact saves a preference saying "I've shown the release notes for this version" before opening the page, therefore you should see it once per version unless something else is opening it (e.g. Firefox's own startup sequence) or preferences are prevented from being saved.

First of all, please double check that those sites have not been accidentally saved in Tools|Options|Main|Startup (notice that multiple sites might be put there separated by the pipe "|" character).
If they're there, just reset that setting to your regular startup page.
If it they were not listed there, this can be a symptom of Firefox not being able to save preferences. To check, please change one preference on that panel (e.g. "When Firefox starts" to "Show a blank page"), close the the window by hitting OK and then restart Firefox.

If after restarting Firefox the preference is not preserved (i.e. "When Firefox starts" is reverted to its previous value), you're probably having a serious issue with your profile preventing preferences from being saved. This article should help you find the cause of the problem. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_n ... fs.js_file

Hope this helps. Please let us know whether it does.

I should hope so. I stole much of it from Giorgio. :)
Thank you for letting us know it helped.

I tried your suggestion or rather Mozilla's suggestion and it only delete my toolbar customizations.

suggestion: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_n ... fs.js_file

The default NOScript page still appears whenever I start Firefox. Yes, it is annoying.

Thanks for any help to resolve this irritant.
Lawrence

Hi, Lawrence. I'm sorry to hear your problem hasn't been resolved. First, be sure to try the other suggestions I posted: http://forums.informaction.com/viewtopi ... 039#p11039
Also, update NoScript to the most recent development build at http://noscript.net/getit#devel.
If your problem still persists, then try these steps, in order until your issue is solved:
1) There might be an extension conflict. Use the Add-ons manager to temporarily disable any other Firefox extensions you have installed, except for NoScript.
2) Perform a Standard Diagnostic. If NoScript isn't working by the time you get to the "Create a new profile" step, a new profile with no other extensions besides NoScript should work right.

Hope this helps. Please let us know whether it does.

Have you tried simply unchecking the box inside NoScript settings that says "Display the release notes on updates"?

NoScript Options|Notifications (TAB)|Display the release notes on updates (UNCHECK)|OK (Click to close and save)

does it still happen?
