NoScript, Ubuntu 22.04, and Firefox < 91

Currently NoScript minimum supported Firefox version is 59.

I upgraded my primary systems to Xubuntu 22.04. Unfortunately for helping with NoScript support, Firefox versions below 91.x are no longer testable. All I can get out of 90.x and earlier is tab crashes (until I go all the way back to Firefox 52.9, but something that old is irrelevant here).

I do testing of old Firefox versions in VirtualBox VM. The old Firefox versions are the direct downloads from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ for linux-x86_64.

Anyone else on forum staff here use Ubuntu (or flavor) and finding that Firefox 59-90 only gives tab crashes on 22.04?

If these old Firefox versions work for you in 22.04, any ideas how I too can make them work?

Do the crashes get logged (about:crashes), reported to Mozilla?
If so, anything the reports might point out?

Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly)

There are no crash reports listed in about:crashes.

Found a workaround: set the environment variable MOZ_DISABLE_CONTENT_SANDBOX=1

Could that impact ability to test support issues?

Needed this information today and noticed this thread actually doesn't need to be staff-only. Moving to Web Tech.
