Page load funny lag problem

Post by morningster »

Hello. Had old version of NoScript, just updated. Getting weird lag with bits of unformatted page while loading.

Any ideas?

If your old version was 11.2.3 or earlier, this could be the CSS PP0 protection ("unrestricted CSS" option)

Thanks, Barbaz.

If I knew which version I was using prior, I would reference it.

Well spotted, though. When enabling "unrestricted CSS" in NS, the problem goes away!

Question is whether this is a significant enough issue (CSS exploit) to warrant using this protection, at least on trusted sites?

I prefer to keep as many counters to all the various types of attack turned on, though this type of glitching breaks the browsing experience somewhat. Is there some tuning possible in Firefox to smooth it out?

Duplicate removed. For future reference, no need to double post if that happens - we forum staff can assign posts to your account if we have proof you wrote them, which we did for the now-deleted post.

This protection is only useful for script-blocked sites. If a site has scripts allowed, it wouldn't bother with CSS PP0 since there are likely much more efficient and accurate ways to perform that type attack using Javascript.

Thanks for the help, barbaz. I've ticked the "unrestricted CSS" on trusted sites for less painful browsing! :)
