All of a sudden No Script seems to have stopped blocking many domains

Going to google maps, it no longer asks me for gstatic.com and google.com to be added or blocked in noscript
https://studio.youtube.com/channel/ used to require access to gstatic.com to function correctly but no longer cares

Other sites where there were no adverts displayed, are now full of adverts

If corporations and people acted with integrity then jumping through the hoops of having no script installed at all would not be required.

But since even YouTube with all their resources cannot stop advertisements telling me to not miss out on the latest discord IPO on their front page, you have to operate on the assumption that every website you visit is possibly hostile to you and your computer and act accordingly.

Anyhow, something is not right with noscript and Firefox 97.0.1 which all seems to have happened in the past 48 hours which just so happens to coincide with the latest 21JAN2022 update.

Please let me know what other information you need

What does it do instead?

What version of NoScript were you updated to?
Could you please go NoScript Options > Export, and PM me the contents of the resulting file, so that I can test Google Maps with your NoScript config?

It seems it was stupid user fault.

Somehow I'd managed to click on "Disable restrictions globally (dangerous)"

I do not recall doing that, but nevertheless it happened.

Did No Script used to give you a big fat warning asking you if you are sure if you wanted to do this?

Hmm, is it just me or are we seeing this a lot recently? I wonder if this isn't being done by the user?

Yes it did, and there is talk of bringing it back - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=26525&p=104992#p104992

You prompting me to look for "NoScript Options > Export" is what helped me find that I had disabled restrictions globally. So that in and of itself solved the problem on my part.

I will look at that other topic and put my 2 cents in as well.

Disabling Restrictions Globally should have a big fat warning attached to it.
