[RESOLVED] How to combine http https like before

Post by mushu »

Using noscript v11.2.11 on Win 10 pro with Firefox 95.0.2
---
A few questions that I could not find answers to in the FAQ or doing a bunch of google searches:

1.) it seems like the FAQ is woefully out of date, i tried many of the suggestions in it and none work

2.) I have ZERO "noscript" settings available when I go into about:config but the FAQ says they should be there, what am I doing wrong?

3.) on the noscript options window it lists all blockable connections as BOTH http and https individually, how do I get it back to combining them all into just blocking the domain itself?

TIA!

Yes it is, like most of the content on the website which refers to NoScript Classic :(
I hope to finish the new site (which has been in the works since last summer) and archive the old one by the first half of January.

In facts, no "modern" extensions have about:config settings anymore.

Just turn the closed green padlock (meaning that permissions are given only if the site is served on a HTTPS connection) into an open red one (meaning both HTTP and HTTPS are deemed acceptable) by clicking it.

Thank you. I guess I have to do this for every link shown in the window then? For example, the site fontawesome.com shows as two entries. When I click "Trust" it has a green padlock on each link. Are you saying I need to click those green padlocks to turn them both red? And is there a way to make this a global setting by chance so I don't have to do this for every duplicate link? I thought it was something I did in the settings but now I'm thinking it was a code change in the extension itself...

Wait, are you talking about NoScript Options > Per-site Permissions, or the popup that lists active content sources/permissions for specific webpage?

If the popup, just going NoScript Options > Appearance, un-check "List full addresses in the permissions popup" should be enough.

If NoScript Options > Per-site Permissions, how did you generate that list? Did you manually import from a NoScript Classic whitelist-only export file?

Yay that was it, the "Appearance" checkbox showed both http and https URLs which was SO annoying, and now it doesn't. It is possible, a long time ago, that I imported a previous list since I do have a lot of URLs in there. But I think i can edit that list and delete a bunch by checking the "Debug" checkbox, right? I also have a few URLs under the XSS section in "Advanced" that I don't know how to remove.

NoScript Options > Advanced, under "Sanitize cross-site suspicious requests" you should have a list of your previous XSS choices. Select only the XSS choices you want to remove, then click "Clear XSS Choices". The ones that weren't selected will stay.
