New member, long time user (as I guess most new members start); i.e. long before the UI change that followed changes to Firefox (Fx) That said, not an advanced user. (And I have earlier successfully migrated settings and white-lists etc.)

Two or three questions:
The first is an old one, possibly answered somewhere; can I remove old entries in the list of sites? (No harm if they are there, just have not seen a way to remove them.)

I often use Private Browsing mode, and noticed the changes during the last months, i.e. no permanent changes if using an incognito tab, unless confirmed via some check box. (I have had no problems up until that change with temporary permissions, or permanent.)

I may be missing something, but if I go to a "new" site, in Private Browsing mode, and decide to allow its (domain) script permanently, and then check the box and click Trusted, it stays like that during the session, as a Temp. Trusted would, but when I close Fx (and clean cache) and go back to the site it is at Default. Why is that?

Same if I try to change HTTP to HTTPS only, either via the "pop-up" or NoScript's settings page, if using Private Browsing.

And now I just tested in Normal Browsing mode. https://duckduckgo.com, no scripts allowed; set both of them (...duckduckgo.com; https://duckduckgo.com) to Trusted; closed Fx, (cleaned cache), restarted Fx and the setting is gone.

They don't stick, it seems.

(Apart from that (and it could be a result of some update, or change on my end, some seems to be trusted that I think I have set to Untrusted earlier.)

Set the site you want remove to Default, it will be removed when you close or reload the Options page.

Set the site you want remove to Default, it will be removed when you close or reload the Options page.

What version of NoScript are you using?

It happens in Private Browsing (never experienced it, I think, before some ver. ago with that check box in the pop-up), and as mentioned below your quote; beside duckduck, I tested two other sites in Normal Browsing mode; check domain/site as Trusted in pop-up; (check NoScripts' settings page and it is Trusted); close Fx; clean cache, cookies and session; start Fx and go to page, and it's set as Default.

I'm using ver. 11.0.39. (And I'm also using uBlock Origin; but there have never been a problem similar to this.)

I'm gobsmacked.

Do you have CCleaner? If so, is it latest version?

Yes I do, but I'm not using a recent version of CCleaner (rather, a really old one... 5.4something). Does that matter?* I'm using it with very, very conservative settings. As for Fx, it cleans (as mentioned) cache, cookies and sessions + compact databases.

Looking at your link; I hadn't gone that far in thoughts yet, but obviously if CCleaner is used frequently, even if with very limited settings in place, that would be the next thing to examine.

* Ah, Mozilla has changed how Fx works ... Sheesh.

It (CCleaner, old ver.) does include storage-sync-v2.* in Internet cache cleaning and it appears, according to your link etc. that it removes the changes.

I've added some exceptions to CCleaner for now. And NoScript works in Private Browsing & Normal Mode!

And it seems they've updated CCleaner. It's Mozilla who has changed how Fx works (a lot of things about syncing devices & using Fx accounts, but if you don't use 'em...), since I've been using an old v. of CCleaner, but still it seems to be CCleaner's fault.
