noscript icon not in notification area follwing update

Hi immediatley after installing addon update for noscript the noscript icon vanished from notification area

Have read various posts here re this happing after Windows update ( and not having just done a windows update, decided to try suggestions ) , I also checked no script options using down arrow by noscript icon in toolbar ( top of page) but the staus bar icon under appearance tab IS checked ..

Another suggestion found was to" rclick in the notification area and select "customise notifiction icons" and that I would then find the noscript icon there "in a window" doing this shows me 2 areas Current Items or Past Items and neither of them include any ref to noscript or their items

Another suggestion was to remove .NET Framework Assistant for Firefox usaing instructios here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/963707 did this still no noscript icon

Have restarted FF sev time and rebooted PC win Vista sev tmes still no noscript please advise

Sorry I meant to include the noscript update was to 1.9.8.8

Maybe someone can tell me how to revert to the previous version of noscript where this problem was not happening and I will use that until a fix is foudn for this problem ..

Without running the Standard Diagnostic, finding a fix is very difficult for most Fx users.
A new profile is often a very good fix if nothing else works.

If you want previous NS versions, they are archived at the AMO NS pages

You are most strongly advised not to run any other than the latest version of NS.

Go to the View tab and be sure that the Status Bar has a check mark. Same thing happened to me recently. Putting the check mark back for the Status Bar solved the problem.
