No script generating multiple instances of internet explorer

I am not entirely sure that the problem relates to noscript but the problem disappeared (at least for now) when I uninstalled no script.
I began to experience script errors with google calendar maybe since I upgraded to FF 3.5.2. I switched the rendering engine to IE and the problems seemed to stop. Then yesterday, I experienced a few times where suddenly a huge number (50 or more) of instances of internet explorer would open up at the same time all on the google calendar page.
Yesterday I managed to close all the internet explorer pages and once they were closed the problem stopped. Today, the internet explorer kept opening up. They opened up as I was trying to see why no script was refusing access to a certain page (the noscript options opened up on the ABE page and when I tried cancel ABE, internet explorer pages began to pop up). I tried closing the google calendar page on FF but this did not change anything. In the end I managed to close all instances of IE, opened up FF in safe mode, uninstalled noscript and the problem was apparently solved. I miss noscript though.
I use WinXP Japanese.
