It is too easy to screw up settings

I don't know how I did it
& I don't know how to get out of it
Only thing I can think to do
is to do a reset (of NoScript settings)

Profile, I believe should be basically clean.
(Oh, & see, there is a benefit to the context menu option. Allows you to both display the site list & the NoScript version - simultaneously.)


Oh, & weather.gov is allowed, AFAICT, in difference to what the site list shows.


And I'll also point out, that 10 has always confused me, & when I see something like this, my confusion gets confused to the point where I'm confused about whether I'm confused or not? (One day I realize, yes, I am confused.)
And this particular situation is different again from my other "icon" issues, in that in this case, the site is allowed, but I see no way to not allow it? And that makes me then look at the Global Allow icon - which has always confused me & I have to think & think & think, do I have Global Allow enabled or not? And then I think, dumb ass, I better not have Global Allow enabled. So I look again to see if I do, & I'm confused again, once more, still.

So...

Global Allow is not enabled, I think
All other extensions are disabled, I think
Profile should basically be OK, I think

Yet script does seem to be allow?

OK, whatever I have done, & I have no clue what, scripts are allowed.

Next on the agenda, NoScript reset...

That worked.

Absolutely no idea how I got to the state I was in?

Did you note the configuration of your DEFAULT preset before resetting?

I was able to replicate this behavior by enabling "script" for DEFAULT.

After my reset, I ... I removed Fetch from Trusted - to see how that would affect things

Back to Yahoo
Yahoo would not work correctly without Fetch
So I went o Customize & added Fetch back in for Yahoo


And then when I had enough of that


My thought is OK, let me "revoke" those permissions
and...
and I can't tell you what happened with that
as I, I think hit Revoke Temporary Permissions - which did not "revoke temporary permissions"

& then it was like,
oh, wonderful, so a Revoke does not Revoke Custom

& then I went to Custom
but Custom did not show JavaScript for Yahoo, but Fetch was enabled
& think that's the way it went down

& that made sense?

& then who knows what?
i set Yahoo to Default
& JS seems to be off, OK
& then I Temporarily Allow Yahoo
but JS still seems to be off - which does seem to be the case - but I'd expect otherwise
so then I look at Custom
& & &
& i swear to you it changed
before when i looked
JS was not checked
& now after bumbling my way through this
i look again
& JS is checked - actually everything but Fetch is checked - which /is/ different from what i saw moments ago

& yet JS is NOT enabled on YT?
settings say all but Fetch are enabled - currently
but from the look of things it is not!

color me confused, sad, disheartened

set to Trusted, still not

pickles with my dinner, yes i did have that, easy to digest
but how i get into these pickles with FF, only your hairdresser knows for sure

And this, after having "just" Reset & having done very little except browsing down the yahoo.com page & opening a few articles & reading them.
That's it.

Script is not enabled for Default (white box).

Script is gray enabled for Trusted (grey box).

Figure before I Reset, I'll restart.

Yahoo (from Session Restore)

Icon says blocked
Page displays as if it is blocked
Dropdown says that yahoo.com is Trusted
Trusted has everything checked, except for Fetch, & Script is checked though grayed (mentioned above)

So icon says one thing
Dropdown says another
Page is not working

Sigh.


Reset.
Refresh the Yahoo page.
It works.
