Open File Security Warning

Every time I start Firefox 3.5.2 I get a pop-up message box that says, "Open File Security Warning" that is being generated by flashgot.exe. I've tried telling it to accept the certificate (which it says is good), but it keeps happening. Very annoying.
Any ideas/help? Thanks.

As a start, & I did not read through it all & I would be hesitant to do what Alice suggested, because if you are getting the warning it is better to find out the reason for it.
Have you deleted Comodo certificates from your system?
Firefox 3.5 "Open File - Security Warning".
If I'm reading/understanding correctly it looks like this should be addressed in FF 3.5.3. So if you are adventurous you might try a latest-nightly build & see if that resolves the issue for you.

What are "Comodo certificates"?

Are you using any personal firewall or other additional security software?
Have you got a screenshot of what's happening?

Do you have Windows Defender installed?
So this is a MS mechanism that IE ties itself into

There is a workaround for this issue that involves editing your preferences in
about:config.
Open Firefox - type about:config in address bar.
Click I'll be careful I promise Button.
First, change the value for browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone to false.
Next, add a new boolean preference (right Click New/boolean)
named - browser.download.manager.skipWinSecurityPolicyChecks and set its value to true.
create another New boolean preference
named - browser.download.manager.alertOnEXEOpen and set it to false.
These three need to be in effect before the Zone.Identifier information is no
longer saved with the file.
