Everytime i download a "bunch" (more than four) of videos in one session, firefox crashes on me. i would start up firefox again after it has closed and the downloads would be a little messed up but it would still continue. For instance, if i DL 5 videos and each of them were numbered (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), after the crash and it's restart the numbers would probably end up being 1, 1(1), 2, 1(2), 4. this has happened in atleast three sites already.

Are you using the built-in Firefox download manager?
If so, please switch to Orbit Downloader or another of the supported external download managers?
The Firefox built-in one is not optimized for multiple download, and one of the biggest advantages of using an external download manager is that downloads can't interfere with your browsing sessions.

okay, but i was hoping to keep it simple (within firefox). do you see this as something fixable in the future?

Since it's a very likely a Firefox bug, the best way to help this is collecting your crash reports and attaching them to a bug report at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org
