[10.1.5.8] Humongous font size

Post by ikegami »

Since 10.1.5.8, the font size of the popup and of the options page (moz-extension://83a8735d-5110-4794-95e8-aa7ed6fcf783/ui/options.html) is humongous. It's so big that I can't even see the URLs in the box. I can scale the contents of the box (Ctrl-Scrollwheel), but it reverts to the incorrect font size every time the popup opens.

I have a 4K screen with scaled font size (175%) at the OS level (Win10). The font scaling effectively ends up being applied twice

To duplicate, right-click on the desktop, choose "Display Settings", choose "Display" (already done for you), change "Change the size of text" to something larger than 100%.

Could you check whether this problem persists on 10.1.5.9rc1 ? Thanks!

I see some increase in the size of the elements in the toolbar button menu and in the options. I can see fewer lines at once in the Options now, and in the menu there is some weird-looking line wrapping going in (10.1.5.8).

And the large gray tabs/buttons actually make the interface less easy to quickly scan through.

Hi Giorgio, for me, it is fixed. Total size of NoScript menu now is pretty much exactly as it was before beta 10.1.5.8rc2. Personally, I like it.

For me, the menu had not become huge but a little bigger, I think it looks better as it is now with 10.1.5.9rc1 (and it is size wise as it was before beta 10.1.5.8rc2).

Giorgio, look at the screens to compare what the new beta did for me. :)

[FIXED] UI appears overly large (HiDPI issue?)

Post by sqrt2 »

Since the recent update that has changed the UI, on one of my systems, the NoScript UI now appears about twice as large as it should. This is the case on both the popup window when the NoScript icon is clicked as well as on the options page. The UI is so large that a horizontal scroll bar appears in the popup and you can hardly make out which domains it is you are configuring without scrolling.

On my other system, everything appears fine. The main difference between the two systems is that the one with the problem has a HiDPI display and every UI and webpage element in Firefox is scaled by a factor of 2.

Of course, HiDPI problems usually manifest themselves in exactly the opposite way, where everything appears much too small, but it still seems like the most reasonable guess to me as to what might cause the issue.

Thanks, that's the feedback I needed (not having a retina display at hand to test).

You are welcome, I am glad to help.

With the new beta, I see a regression in webpages that list about 20 domains in the NoScript menu. The menu becomes distorted. With webpages that list 17/18 domains there is no distortion. Note: The menu might look OK if I click the NoScript icon while the page is loading. If the page has loaded, the menu looks distorted 100% of the time. An example below.

The update helps the size of the interface, but it is still too large on a 5K monitor.
