How do I get the old UI back??

Hello all. Here for the first time as I've just been infected with the Firefox 57 and the new NoScript. In short, I don't like the current interface and I'd like to get back to the text menu options that used to appear on the bottom of my screen.
I don't know why icons are flavour of the month instead of menus. I much prefer reading text as it is more intuitive and doesn't take up as much screen real estate as the HUGE icons that don't mean much.
This is a must have addon but if I can't get back to an interface I understand, I will have to abandon it.

You don't get the old UI back, that's technically impossible. But the new one may improve over time. Does this one look better to you?

Giorgio has been compelled to completely rewrite the GUI due to the changes in Firefox 57+.

I get the rewrite, but why make the UI look and operate so differently??
I can read, so prefer text. There is no ambiguity and comprehension is easy.
To make a decent icon, it needs to be big which takes up too much screen real estate. A page full of text (without bling and bloat) I can read with minimal clicking and scrolling.
People have different interpretations of icons, especially ones they haven't seen before. This leads to confusion.
Firefox was my browser of choice because of the addons. Now most of my favourite addons don't work, I'm back to selecting my browser by the "which one sucks less" principle. I'm now using Chrome until I find a better alternative.

Thanks. I'll give it a try over the next few days.
At least it uses text instead of icons, which is a good start.

Update: I'm liking ScriptSafe; easy to use and understand. Not quite the old NS but I'm warming to it as it uses text and I can READ!!
