I finally reset my user agent string (I had been using a custom user agent string), and I was magically allowed to post again... what happened?

[RESOLVED] Stallgotten???? :S
For the past half-hour or so, I've been trying to post a reply to a topic; I kept getting a pic from "evil.hackademix.net", though. The pic said "You've been Stallowned!", and kept showing up instead of letting me post my reply... restarting FF made no difference.
I finally reset my user agent string (I had been using a custom user agent string), and I was magically allowed to post again... what happened?

It's a measure to try to prevent spammers.

Re: Stallgotten???? :S
If you are willing to post your user agent, we can look and see if there is a way to tweak the measure to allow legitimate ones, otherwise, it will remain as is.

Notice that non-Gecko user agents have additional restrictions (e.g. can't post URLs, links and certain words), but aren't blocked outright just because of their UA string.

Re: Stallgotten???? :S
I figured that but thought we might be missing a small caveat that can be tweaked, otherwise, just a limitation they have to live with.

Re: Stallgotten???? :S
Thanks for the explanation, guys!
I'll just reset my user agent string whenever I need to post on here... mostly I changed the user agent string to avoid malware, spambots, etc. but I know there isn't any of that stuff on here...
Thanks again!
