new behavior post quantum?

Ever since the new version for the new firefox I've been seeing some odd behavior compared to the previous version.
Example 1: on fark.com it would previously display images in the threads whether or not I had allowed scripts, only blocking embedded youtube and such links.
Now it blocks everything, images and embedded videos both, unless I allow scripts. I can tick every other box to allow everything but scripts, and still no images. Only if scripts are turned on.
Same exact thing with another site I go to, but will refrain from linking since its porn.
Previous firefox/noscript the thumbnails would show, now I have to allow scripts for them to show. The normal images if I click on the thumbnails load fine. Allowing anything and everything else through makes no difference, I have to allow scripts to get the thumbnail images to show. Previously it didn't care if scripts were on, they would show regardless.
Fark i can deal with allowing scripts, but the second site will try to open popups if I allow scripts. They end up being blank pages because of noscript/adblock/both, but the fact that they open is very annoying.
Is there some way to make it revert to the previous behavior?
Also, there was an option in the old version to not allow scripts, even if from allowed sites, if the top level domain wasn't trusted.
Does it still work this way?
